Phoenix, AZ – At ALTIS Higher Education, we’re setting out to disrupt the sport performance education industry by building a program that combines academic rigor with real-world application.
Our MSc in Strength, Conditioning, and Coaching Practice [MSc. SCC] is designed for those who are ready to push the boundaries and develop the skills necessary to thrive in the modern coaching environment. To lead the way, we’ve recruited instructors who embody our mission: outside-the-box thinkers who are both academically driven and deeply rooted in hands-on practice.
Today, we’re excited to introduce two of these exceptional educators, Rob Wilson and Megan Young.
Megan Young: Leading with Data-Driven Compassion in High Performance
Megan, a Performance Coach for the Seattle Sounders, and the 2023 NSCA Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year, brings over 15 years of high-performance experience to the ALTIS Higher Education team.
Known for her strategic integration of sport science, human optimization technology, and data systems, Megan’s work is characterized by a deep commitment to both human performance and welfare. Her approach to coaching is as much about contextual compassion and tactical empathy as it is about leveraging data to inform decisions—a combination that has seen her successfully train elite athletes, Olympians, and World Cup champions.
Megan will be instructing Block 3: Physiology in Performance and Planning in Context, where she will guide students through the complexities of planning and periodization for long-term athletic development. Her expertise in designing training programs that optimize energy systems and her experience in leading cross-functional management teams make her an invaluable resource for our students.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the program, Megan shares, “I'm really excited to join the ALTIS Higher Education team and be part of a program that’s redefining the future of coaching. At ALTIS, we’re building a bridge between science, data, and the human side of performance. I’m eager to guide our students through the intricacies of performance physiology and help them design training systems that truly elevate people, both physically and mentally. This is an incredible opportunity to empower the next generation of coaches to lead with both data and compassion.”
Megan’s impact extends beyond her professional achievements. As a cancer survivor, she is also a passionate advocate for leukemia awareness, bringing a unique perspective to her role as an educator and mentor.
