After 8 great years in Phoenix, we are excited to announce that we are moving our center of operations to Atlanta, Georgia.
Phoenix has been a wonderful home for us, and we have really loved being there. We will forever cherish the friendships we have made with the great folks at Paradise Valley Community College, Movement Restoration, and especially, EXOS – where we have been housed since our inception. Without EXOS founder Mark Verstegen and his awesome team, we wouldn’t be here today — so I want to extend a huge public thank you!
Why Atlanta?
Well – Atlanta has a great sporting culture – both at the developmental and professional level. We’re really excited to be sitting in the heart of US sport — in the South East.
We are in conversations with a number of potential partners who are interested in our presence in Atlanta. Given the impact that Covid has had on all aspects of business, we have to be agile to continue building the company. As with many other small businesses, Covid hit us pretty hard – and we feel the Atlanta area gives us a great opportunity to expand into other areas of business.
Most-importantly, Atlanta is a great city to live in – both for staff and athletes.
When we first set up in AZ, housing was very affordable – but lately, Phoenix has been growing substantially (with 1000s moving to the desert from the west coast), and so rental and housing prices have jumped considerably. Atlanta has a number of diverse communities for our staff and athletes to live in, at a variety of different price points. We have a number of good friends in the Atlanta area (like Brett Bartholomew and Paul Doyle), and they can’t stop raving about it. It’s a huge city, and it’s easy to get in and out of. It’s also closer to Europe, so will be easy to access the spring-summer European track competitions.
And trees!
We’re all really looking forward to seeing trees again! 8 years of staring at cacti is enough! 😜
We start this fall, with our preparations for next year’s World Championships in Eugene.
If you are interested in talking to us about this – or anything else as it relates to our business in Atlanta – just shoot me a message at s.mcmillan@altis.world.
I’d love to hear from you.
