Great Britain athlete Jodie Williams is set to spend time training in Phoenix as she prepares for the Olympic Games in Rio.
The European and Commonwealth medallist has announced she is to concentrate on her individual events of the 200m and 400m ahead of next summer. She will maintain her UK coach Christine Bowmaker, whilst tapping into the expertise at ALTIS.
“I think this is the change I am most excited about,” reflected Jodie on her recent blog post. “Everything they do out there is geared towards performance and achieving and I feel this will be a great environment for me.”
“Their facilities are amazing and I just love everything about the set up. I go out to visit at the end of the month before going out there for a few months at the end of February.”
“I can’t wait to work with their world-class team and soak up all the information I possibly can!”
“I will still very much be working with my coach in the UK, Christine Bowmaker, she is fully on board with all my decisions and we are both really excited about the future.”
