Available for study from October 25th, your first masterclass of the program begins by diving into Coach Pfaff’s framework for movement identification and observation. By exploring the framework, you’ll deepen your understanding of biomechanics and functional anatomy, and learn to recognize the subtle nuances of movement quality across different tasks and environments.
Recognizing an issue is one thing; understanding its significance is another. Masterclass 2 of the program, available from November 15th, dives into distinguishing between an athlete's unique solution to a motor problem and a genuine issue that requires intervention. Through clarification and categorization from the lens of Coach Pfaff’s 50+ years of problem solving movement at the highest level, you'll learn to discern the root cause of movement problems, managing them effectively without disrupting the athlete's inherent mechanics.
In Masterclass 3 of the program, available from December 6th, Coach Pfaff will guide you through a detailed examination of the most common and critical movement risk factors that often lead to injury. Building on the foundation of movement identification and interpretation, you’ll dive deep into understanding the biomechanical patterns that can compromise an athlete’s performance and longevity. You’ll explore key movement inefficiencies frequently seen in high-stakes environments like acceleration and high speed running, as well as the underlying causes of these issues. By the end of this session, you’ll have a comprehensive toolkit to proactively identify potential injury risks, allowing you to intervene before they become performance-limiting problems.
Knowing what to do is crucial, but how to implement impactful interventions it is where the true art lies. Your fourth and final masterclass session, available from January 10th, focuses on the application of knowledge, guiding you through the formulation of intervention strategies including ‘Plan B’ and Coach Pfaff’s many time-tested methods for Return to Play schemes used by some of the best athletes and teams globally. You’ll learn about adopting, acting, and adapting - a dynamic process tailored to meet the specific needs of each athlete, ensuring continuous improvement in movement quality, while reducing the risk of re-injury.
