The World Athletics Center has released details of their memberships for training across Professional, Semi-Professional, Partner Groups and Scholars.
Professional Membership: for those athletes that choose to make WAC their full-time home.
Semi-Professional/Apprentice Membership: for athletes and coaches that visit WAC for periods of time, but do not commit to full-time residence. Perfect for those that have commitments elsewhere that will not allow them to re-locate full-time to Arizona, and for coaches that want to greatly improve their coaching skills with formal, structured ‘apprenticeships’ with WAC. Time periods can be as short as one week, and as long as 6 months.
Partner Group Membership: for groups and Federations that commit to spending extended periods of time at WAC with multiple athletes and a coach (or multiple coaches). In essence, this membership acts as a warm-weather training base for those groups that require facilities, expert coach supervision/assistance, and coach education (via our apprenticeship scheme), but no assistance with program design. Perfect for small training groups, and for smaller country Federations in colder climates.
Scholarship Membership: each year, WAC will offer between 5 and 10 membership packages to athletes who’s circumstances may not allow them to be full members. An application process will determine the successful candidates, and preference will be given to those who best fulfill the necessary criteria.
*athlete services: this includes assisting athletes and coaches with housing, transportation, and other specific logistical requirements. WAC has excellent preferred rates with a number of housing and car rental alternatives, including with Zona Resort Suites and Avis.
