This summer ALTIS will be holding a host of Track & Field camps across America to reach out and help educate young athletes.
It was announced last week that alongside the specialities of Throws and Pole Vault, ALTIS will also be hosting a Sprints & Speed camp at Tiffin University in June that they hope will help athletes from different disciplines.
“The ability to run fast is a key component in sport,” explained Education Director and Sprints coach Kevin Tyler. “Being able to create distance from your opponent, regardless of your endeavour provides you with a critical advantage.”
“When you learn how to coordinate movement patterns and properly apply force amazing improvements materialize.”
“Speed is complex, while there are genetic determinants, it is also a skill that can be developed. When you learn how to coordinate movement patterns and properly apply force amazing improvements materialize.”
“The ALTIS sprint and speed camps can provide you with the tools you need to get you to the next level. You will learn the latest techniques from some of the top speed coaches in the world.”
The 3-day camp to be held at Tiffin University will provide both the theoretical and practical knowledge to improve acceleration and maximum velocity mechanics. It also helps athletes understand how to best train for speed.
“When athletes apply these principles together over a period of time it is not uncommon to witness a .2 improvement in the 40yd dash. If you want to be faster for your sport then there is not better place to look than the ALTIS sprint and speed camps.”
