Following the announcement earlier this week that sprinter Terra Evans has relocated to Altis, we are pleased to reveal that twin sister Taylor Evans has also chosen to relocate to Phoenix – making her the fourth athlete this last month to announce their intent to join Altis.
Taylor, a graduate of Texas Tech, is the marginal elder of the Evans duo, being born just under two hours earlier than her twin sister Terra…we chatted to Taylor to find out more about her move:
What is your home-town?

What event(s) do you compete in, and what is/are your PR’s?
Have you competed in other sports?
Figure Modeling (if you consider that a sport) … I lifted weights and was on a strict diet – I enjoyed it.
When you’re not on the track, what do you do?
Read books, watch movies, and enjoy family and friends
What’s your ideal vacation?
Swimming at a resort, or on the beach in the Caribbean, and shopping in Europe!

My Daddy – Olympic bronze medalist Dwayne Evans.

Do you have any pre-meet rituals?
Pray, consult with my coach, and go over the race in my head.
What’s on your playlist if you listen to music before competitions?
Rarely listen to music but if I do some R&B and Gospel to calm me down!
What are your career goals?
To get PR’s in my event and compete overseas.
What do you hope to be doing after your athletic career is finished?
I hope to be working in sports/entertainment or become a lawyer/agent.
What do you think T&F needs to do to build its popularity in North America?
Have more meets for professional athletes. Show more of the meets on sports TV.
What does success look like to you?
Happiness within…once you’re happy with your performance I feel you are successful!
What are the 3 most important factors that you feel determine your success?

And what motivates you to reach this success?
My family and myself.
What has prevented you from succeeding in the past?
I didn’t always feel comfortable in my training environment.
What can prevent you from succeeding in the future?
Why did you choose to join Altis?
I believe the coaching staff and the facility are a great fit for what I believe an athlete needs to be successful.
What are you most looking forward to about being based here?
I will be in my home town and I will have the familiarity of the environment I know. Also, I will be surrounded by athletes that are hungry for greatness like myself.
Is there anything you are dreading?!
Not sure…the getting back in shape part, but I’m ready!
