A hot young prospect in the sprints with 100m best of 10.19s, and 200m PR of 20.65s, Arizona State University Graduate – Ryan Milus is the latest talented recruit to be joining Altis this summer. Speaking on behalf of Altisr, Recruitment Director Andreas Behm said: “We are very excited that Ryan has decided to train with us. He is an explosive and sleek athlete. He comes from a distinguished college and is still fairly new to the sport of track and field, having picked up sprinting only late in high school. We feel he has just scratched the surface of his vast potential.”
To welcome in the latest member of the Altis family, we sat down to found out more about what makes Ryan Milus tick…
What is your home-town and where do you live now?
My home town is Tacoma, WA but I now live in Chandler, AZ.
How old are you?
23 years old.
What School did you attend and what is your Degree in?
Arizona State University. My degree is in Business (Tourism).
What is the best place you’ve visited?
Best day of your life so far?
Graduating from Arizona State University.
Worst day of your life?
Having to get major surgery on my eye.
When you’re not on the track, what do you do?
I like to hangout with friends, watch sport on tv, and play video games
If you could do another sport instead of track, what would it be?
I would play Football if I could play another sport.
Who is your sporting hero?
Do you have a favorite quote?

What are your career goals?
The ultimate goal is making an Olympic team.
What do you hope to be doing after your athletic career is finished?
I hope to be spending time with family when my athletic career is done.
What does T&F need to do to build its popularity in North America?
I think the main thing is improving the TV coverage and getting more track meets on TV so people and fans can better familiarize themselves with the many great athletes that are in this sport.
What does success look like to you?
Success to me is knowing you did everything in your power to accomplish the goals that you set out for yourself, and reaching your full potential at anything you’re doing.
What motivates you to reach this success?
Maximizing my full potential in Track & Field and winning is what motivates me.
What has prevented you from succeeding in the past?
Being impatient with some of my injuries has prevented me succeeding in the past. You have to be smart with how you manage your body in different situations.
Why did you choose to join the Altis?
I chose Altis because I have heard nothing but great things about all of the coaches here. When I came to visit I had a chance to see the training environment and it was something that also made me want to be a part of Altis.
What are you most looking forward to about being based here?
I look forward to learning from the premier coaches at Altis and being able to apply what I learn to the track in practice and competition.

The heat out here in Arizona…but I’m getting used to it!
